Julia St Louis

Julia St Louis is a PhD Candidate at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto, a PICU nurse at SickKids, and a Junior Fellow at Massey College. Her research focuses on ways to improve pediatric and neonatal organ donation.

Julia's doctoral work involves two studies. One is a predictive model of time to death following withdrawal of life-sustaining measures in critically ill infants, with the goal of improving informed decision-making related to donation after circulatory death. The second, qualitative study explores the perspectives of bereaved parents on the potential for donation after circulatory death in infants. Across both projects, Julia is motivated by a commitment to trust, transparency, and compassionate care in organ donation systems.

Outside of research and clinical work, Julia enjoys knitting, traveling, and spending time outdoors with her dog, Sullivan. She believes that thoughtful collaboration across disciplines, and incorporating family perspectives, is essential to building stronger healthcare systems.
