Kevin Meesters
Dr. Meesters is a humble settler on the unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) territories, where he now practices as a pediatric infectious disease physician at BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH). Originally from the Netherlands, he completed his pediatric residency and PhD in Belgium before crossing the pond for fellowship training in pediatric infectious diseases in Vancouver.
His research and clinical work focus on bringing evidence to patient care—ensuring that data-driven insights lead to better treatments for children. From studying the epidemiology of vaccine-preventable infections to optimizing antimicrobial use, Kevin is passionate about tackling the challenges of pediatric infectious diseases.
Beyond the hospital and research lab, you’ll find him making the most of British Columbia’s natural beauty—whether skiing in the winter, cycling through mountain roads, camping or getting lost in a good book.
