Meet the Speaker!

Dr. Lawrence Mbuagbaw is a Research Methods Consultant and Clinical Epidemiologist. He is a Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact at McMaster University, and Director of the Research Methodology Centre at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, where he provides methodological and statistical support for the design, analysis, and reporting of clinical research.

Dr. Mbuagbaw’s research interests include methodological research, engagement in HIV care, mobile health (mHealth), and health systems strengthening. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Pilot and Feasibility Studies and has designed an interactive, web-based trial design and capacity-building platform, TrialTree. He has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications and technical reports for national and international institutions and is the principal investigator on numerous projects spanning evidence synthesis, randomized trials, mixed-methods, and qualitative research. He also serves on the editorial boards of the Cochrane Database of Systematic ReviewsContemporary Clinical Trials, and Cochrane Evidence Synthesis and Methods.
