Meet the Speakers!

Sareema Javaid is a trained clinical pharmacist with a Master's degree in Nanomedicine from Université Paris Cité and is also a certified clinical safety specialist. As a Senior Clinical Project Manager at ECRIN, she has over seven years of experience in clinical development, leading multiple European collaborative projects. Her expertise includes planning, setting up, and managing multinational clinical studies across Europe, with a particular focus on master protocols and drug repurposing trials. She is actively involved in pharmacovigilance and clinical safety activities and serves as the lead Project Manager for the PRISM project at ECRIN.

Dr. Louise Gallagher, MB BCh BAO, PhD, MRCPsych, is Chief of the Child & Youth Mental Health Collaborative, at the Hospital for Sick Children and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She is a child psychiatrist and clinician scientist with research interests in neuropsychiatric genomics and brain-based biomarkers. She has extensive experience of participating and leading within research consortia funded by FP7, Horizon Europe, and Innovative Medicine Initiative Programs. She recently co-ordinated from Canada a Stage 2 submission to Horizon Europe along with Dr. Mandi Newton, University of Alberta and colleagues in Europe and the US.

Dr. Mandi Newton, PhD, RN, is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on advancing the design, conduct, and implementation of innovative trials to improve child and youth mental health care. She leads a national child and youth mental health clinical trials network and serves on the leadership team for DIVERT, a national health research training program advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in digital mental health research. Building partnerships is central to her work, including collaborations developed through Horizon Europe with colleagues across Europe and the US.
