Britney Benoit
Dr. Britney Benoit is a Registered Nurse and Associate Professor in the Rankin School of Nursing at St. Francis Xavier University and a CIHR Health System Impact Fellow (Early Career Researcher) at Nova Scotia Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from St. Francis Xavier University, a Master of Science in Nursing from McGill University, and a PhD in Nursing from Dalhousie University.
Dr. Benoit’s research focuses on improving infant and pediatric care through implementation of the Baby-Friendly Initiative to support breastfeeding and advancement of evidence-informed, parent-led pain management strategies, including breastfeeding and skin-to-skin contact. Her program of research includes the generation of new knowledge, synthesis of existing evidence, and translation of findings into health system policy and practice. She uses both qualitative and quantitative methods and works in close collaboration with clinicians, health system leaders, decision makers, and families.
