Gunjan Seth

Gunjan is a parent partner, system advocate, and proud immigrant to Canada with lived experience navigating the healthcare system as the parent of an individual with autism and ADHD and asthma. Following her son's premature birth, she experienced the continuum of care from the NICU through outpatient services, shaping her commitment to improving healthcare through meaningful patient and family partnerships. Driven by the belief that research and education can create a more just, inclusive, and equitable healthcare system, Gunjan actively collaborates with researchers, clinicians, and healthcare organizations to ensure that patient and family voices inform research, education, and system improvement. She serves as Family as Faculty and Co-Chair of the Education and Training Subcommittee at the Bloorview Research Institute, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. She is also a member of Ontario Health's Toronto Region's Patient and Family Advisory and Mental Health and Addictions Advisory Committee, a family partner with the Ontario Health Team–Mid West Toronto, Autism Speaks, the CHILD-BRIGHT Network, and the Canadian Neurodevelopmental Research Training (CanNRT) program. In addition, she co-facilitates interprofessional education through CACHE at the University of Toronto. Gunjan has partnered on numerous research studies across Canada and the United States, serving in advisory, collaborator, co-applicant, and principal applicant roles with organizations including the Bloorview Research Institute, Women's College Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and several universities across Canada. She is passionate about advancing patient-oriented research and increasing meaningful public engagement in clinical trials to make research more inclusive, accessible, and relevant to the communities it serves.
